Focus Driver CPC training on compliance courses

With VOSA recently stating that Drivers’ Hours abuse is still the most common reason for prosecutions, continuously testing drivers’ knowledge and assessing their training needs is imperative – and not only in terms of reducing fines, protecting OCRS scores, but in making sure your drivers are safe on the road.

With Driver CPC being a mandatory requirement for drivers, it would make sense in light of VOSA’s statistics, that operators and drivers should ensure part of the 35 hours of training to is spent on legislative courses -  those focused on Drivers Hours Law, Working Time Regulations and defect reporting, for example. This will provide real added business benefits to the company, and to the individual driver, if only to avoid being stopped at the roadside and receiving a fine.
