Course Description
tdi have put together a 5/6 hour course designed for managers or individuals who are required to supervise transport operations, as well as providing a useful update for those who have been in the role for a while. The course is designed to help transport staff develop an active role in ensuring legal compliance within their operation and have a better understanding of operator licensing.
Objectives
To equip delegates with knowledge of:
- Operator Licensing and Company Undertakings
- Vehicle Checks and Driver’s Defect Reporting
- Maintenance, Safety Inspections and Record Keeping
- Enforcement – Role of the Traffic Commissioner
- Safe loadingand Load Security
- Driver’s Hours and Working Time Rules – EC and Domestic – Digital and Analogue Tachograph
On completion of the course, delegates will understand the company’s responsibilities which include: Ensuring legal compliance within their business and have a better understanding of legislation on operator licensing. Appreciate best practice in respect of vehicle maintenance, accuracy of vehicle records, including driver daily walk round checks and defect reporting and the repercussions of non-compliance with relevant legislation.

Assessment:
There is no formal assessment at the end of the course. However a TDI Certificate of Competence will be awarded on successful completion of an optional short multi-choice test paper.
